Mounting solar PV – getting it right

South Africans are increasingly turning to photovoltaic (PV) solar to mitigate the effects of loadshedding. How do buyers ensure that they are getting a high-quality installation, especially with so many new players entering the market?

Mounting solutions fall into three gen-eral categories, ground-, roof- and carport-mounted solutions, with each engineered to ensure optimum perfor-mance, durability and flexibility.

1. Ground-mount solutions: Ideal for clients with large open spaces. Can be installed quickly and easily on flat or sloping ground.
2. Roof-mounted solutions: Designed to be installed on commercial and residential roofs in a range of con-figurations, including ballasted, at-tached, flat and elevated.
3. Carport-mounted solutions: For clients who want to generate renew-able energy from their carports or canopies.

Components are corrosion-resistant and robustly constructed to withstand the harshest weather conditions – miti-gating damage to panels during storms, high winds or heavy snowfall.
